The Mayor is a Thief and a Drunk

Village of Earlville’s former Mayor Toni Campbell in 2010 was arrested for stealing more than $42,000 from Chenago Valley Pet Foods in Sherburne and charged with fraud.

 Campbell’s replacement former Mayor Mark Doeberl was arrested last month for DWI and later resigned.

The arrest of the former Mayors’ led to an audit by the State Comptroller Office. 
The audit uncovered:

-Earlville does not maintain sufficient accounting records;

-Financial report was not filed with the State Comptroller Office since 2006-2007;

-Earlville did not have policies nor procedures for collecting real property tax or water rent.

As result of the audit, tax collection and water revenues has been temporarily halted.
