School Bus shooting

The Syracuse Police Department (SPD) is still seeking any information about a shooting involving a First Student School Bus carrying nine students.

Police say a man fired more than 15 shots out of a moving sedan at a minivan on the 900 block of South Avenue.  One of those shots hit the bus.

The bus driver is being commended for his quick thinking. According to the Director of Transportation for the Syracuse City School District, the driver told the children to duck down in their seats as he drove the bus to a safe location which he was train to do.

Two cars were also hit by gunfire. The driver requested his name not be released.

Anyone with information are asked to call the Syracuse Police Department.
