A
new weekly newspaper aimed at the Syracuse African-American community threw itself
a launch party this week.
"CNY
Vision," which comes out on Fridays, started publication in October, owner
and publisher Dave McCleary said.
McCleary
is from Rochester, where his business, the Minority Reporter family of publications,
is based. They include "Minority Reporter" and "La Voz," McCleary
said.
CNY
Vision has a small office in Syracuse with a staff of an interim editor, Kofi
Quaye, and a photographer. The publication uses freelance writers, McCleary said.
The
paper is free and available at a number of locations around the city. The newspaper
has a Web site.
